A Walk in Hot Springs
← → © 2014 Sarabeth Jones. All rights reserved. A Walk in Hot Springs 20 Feb '14 Once again, my friend Alison has an idea that has captured me enough that I want to join in too. She has a little project going called #48walks – you can see all about it here – and for me it has become such an intriguing way to think about things. Where am I walking to next? It’s made me think about things I want to walk into this year, both literally and metaphorically. It’s made me think of the places, people, experiences, that I know are in my path, and wonder what’s…

← → © 2013 Sarabeth Jones. All rights reserved. friday faves 2 Nov '13 A day late and a dollar short, as my grandmother would say. So let’s get on with it, shall we? Somebody else had my same EXACT Halloween: what you need to know about 6-foot trick-or-treaters (believe me, I’ve scowled at plenty of them too). You know it’s true: Honest Slogans. Pumpkin. Cinnamon. Rolls: The Pioneer Woman’s cinnamon roll recipe has been a favorite at the Jones house for a while, but I am SO excited to try this fall twist. Rogers, Arkansas: hip & happenin'
← → © 2013 Sarabeth Jones. All rights reserved. Rogers, Arkansas: hip & happenin’ 21 Oct '13 In August 2013, I was invited to attend a wonderful Rogers Getaway weekend. My trip to Rogers, Arkansas, was paid for by the Rogers CVB, but all opinions and recommendations are my own. Like I said last week, there is much about Rogers that feels like a small town, homey & charming. However, this is also a city in northwest Arkansas – which means it has been greatly affected by the fact that Wal-Mart is headquartered nearby. A number things of we did in Rogers felt quite like we had stepped into a much larger city…

Always shrinking: expectations of women, and men, and the things we unwittingly pass down – beautifully written and performed. “I don’t know anyone who looks like Charlie Dunnam. I know five guys who look like Steve Martin.”: Expectations again, but a totally different take from Brittany, Herself. Keeping the ‘dead’ in ‘deadline’: a rich reminder from Crescent Dragonwagon. New South Style: Not many things can make me read a business’s blog, but one of my favorite brands +…

summing up 7: loss
← → © 2013 Sarabeth Jones. All rights reserved. summing up 7: loss 17 Oct '13 I can’t leave this post without writing this one. I am struck all the time by the ways that we tell the good but not the hard. As people, sometimes especially as believers, we spin the story, focus on the happy ending. I don’t want to do that, especially with something that I carried on with publicly, so here’s the not-so-happy ending: this spiritual exercise that I was involved with for 7 months, that I walked through with a group of people and wrote about here held so many good things for me. It…

Rogers, Arkansas: hometown & handmade
← → © 2013 Sarabeth Jones. All rights reserved. Rogers, Arkansas: hometown & handmade 14 Oct '13 In August 2013, I was invited to attend a wonderful Rogers Getaway weekend. My trip to Rogers, Arkansas, was paid for by the Rogers CVB, but all opinions and recommendations are my own. During our time in Rogers we saw all kinds of things the city had to offer, and it became clear that although northwest Arkansas is a bustling center of business with visitors and residents from all over the world, it also still has, at heart, the small town center that it grew from. I was completely charmed by this aspect of Rogers, so…

My trip to Rogers, Arkansas, was paid for by the Rogers CVB, but all opinions and recommendations are my own. Last month, I headed to northwest Arkansas to spend a weekend in Rogers, and it was such a fun trip! I was overwhelmed with pleasant surprises – our weekend was so well planned and and hosted that we saw many sides of the city in a short amount of time. There was so much I didn’t know about Rogers, and I…

← → © 2013 Sarabeth Jones. All rights reserved. market street cinema & the beauty of yelp reviews 12 Aug '13 Bryan and I went out last Friday with another couple that we love. Rhonda and I worked together for several years at Fellowship North, and we celebrated our 40th and 50th birthdays together on a cruise a couple of years ago. Bryan and Bobby love to talk all manner of sports. And, we have the same wedding anniversary – married 10 years apart on the same day. So we went out to celebrate, as our 20th and their 30th are coming up this week. We started off at The…

throwback thursday: CO camping
← → © 2013 Sarabeth Jones. All rights reserved. throwback thursday: CO camping 25 Jul '13 Sometimes, when you work at a church and one of your dear friends who also happens to be your pastor decides to move to Scotland with his family (which includes his wife, who also happens to be a dear friend) then you get to help plan a celebration of their time here. And while you just might feel a teeny bit resentful – you know, because all of the planning is making you think about all of the leaving, and you are more in the camp of pretending that it’s not really happening –…
